Wow, I can’t believe I’ve been away for so long..

I’ve almost forgotten about this blog in the months I’ve been using Windows. With enough tweaks, it works well. XP, that is. Vista still sucks. I’m still dual-booting Ubuntu with Windows, but I think that I’m gonna do a dual-disk install when Windows 7 comes out. If any of you have tried the beta, you can probably see why that is. (And by my screenshots)

Windows 7 BETA

Wow.. I never thought a M$ BETA would be this good. From my not-so-wise opinion, Windows 7 is a lot better than Vista. I can run it on my computer’s second hard drive and it doesn’t suck, even though I have the minimum amount of RAM!

RuneScape

You may have read my post “Bad timing…” where I complained about Jagex coming out with a graphical update, I thought it was the third game in the RuneScape series. Really, it’s just an improvement on RS2, which still sucks.. so I’m glad I didn’t go back, especially since the game runs in Java and has to access your 3D graphics libraries, so it makes it a LOT slower.

Planux

I’ve started working on an Ubuntu-derived gaming OS called Planux.. we aren’t very far into making it, we’re still getting the necessities up like a website and an IRC channel.. but you can see our GNOME-look page here: http://gnome-look.org/groups/?id=98

OK, you probably know that a while ago I stopped playing WoW. Well, now I’m addicted to EA’s new game SPORE. Sorry. I’ll probably have some more posts now, since I actually remembered this blog.

Well, I’ve decided.  It’s been a pain getting my beautiful WoW setup working on Linux with all my choice add-ons AND an add-on updater program, but.. Back to RuneScape.  WoW is just too time-consuming and expensive.  So, looks like I’ll probably be more involved in this blog, and you’ll see more of my work.

Quit Bug..

For the past couple weeks I’ve been having a bug where it takes about 5 minutes for the GNOME quit menu to come up in Ubuntu 8.04.  For some reason the bug doesn’t happen if sometime during the session I use update-manager.  More details as events warrant.

BASH upgrade..

Well, well, well.. BASH got upgraded for Ubuntu 8.04 lately. I hope to see some improvement.. I hate it when people say “Well, we haven’t had an update in a while” and make tiny changes and call it an “upgrade.”

Bad timing..

Great. Here I am, after quitting RuneScape and paying 10 dollars more a month for WoW, Jagex (The creators of RuneScape) say RS3 is coming out soon. DIE!
